Club member Lee Wadell lit himself on fire to throw up a banana with a message to Ken T.B. at one of the picnics in Arcadia, CA. He was/is a Hollywood stuntman and his crew put him out. We had to obtain an "Open Burn permit from the fire dept. to pull this one off. NO PROBLEM! The fire Captain who issued the permit was a Club member!

The U.S. Government sponsored the BANANA FESTIVAL or "Festival of Friendship" for many years in Fulton, Kentucky. The city went bananas with a parade featuring a 2,000 lb banana pudding. In the above photo, Ken and the Lt. Governor of Kentucky served everyone a cup of delicious banana pudding. They had a Banana Bowl football game and all the retailers in Fulton KY, and South Fulton, TN tied in offering specials with this week long celebration. No more U.S. government sponsorship. How unfortunate!
A banana bonnet contest was conducted at the Orange County Fair in So. Cal. T.B. Ken demonstrated several banana recipes at a designated site for all to enjoy. We ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME!
